Designed for never-before-seen levels of creative freedom, X-T5 houses a stunning 40.2 megapixel sensor inside a compact and intuitive body.
The Fujifilm XF 16-80mm f/4.0 OIS WR boasts the highest amount of optical stabilisation in any interchangeable lens. Lightweight (440g) and Compact (88.9mm in length), it offers a range of focal lengths from wide angle to mid telephoto with a constant F4 aperture making it the ideal lens to travel with.
The XF16-80mm F4 R OIS WR is a 5x standard zoom lens that consists of 16 lens elements in 12 groups. This includes three aspherical lens elements, and one ED aspherical lens to effectively control field curvature and spherical aberrations giving advanced levels of sharpness across the frame. Its inner focus AF system uses a stepping motor to drive the focusing group of lens elements quietly and quickly. The powerful OIS has an effective correction of 6.0 stops which widens the shooting scenarios the lens can be used.
The X-T5 features the back-illuminated 40.2MP sensor “X-TransTM CMOS 5 HR.” The use of an improved image processing algorithm delivers advanced image resolution without compromising the S/N ratio to achieve superior image quality. The X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR sensor can take in more light efficiently thanks to its improved pixel structure. ISO125, which was an extended ISO level in the previous model, is now available as a standard option.
X-T5 has a maximum electronic shutter speed of 1/180,000, an increase of approximately 2.5 stops compared to other X Series cameras. Use it with wide apertures in extremely bright environments for more creative options, or to freeze action at the perfect moment.
This camera features the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function, which quadruples image resolution and produces accurate colour reproduction, ideal for commercial photography and digital archiving of cultural assets. The IBIS mechanism is used to shift the image sensor at high precision to carry out automatic shooting of 20 frames in a single click of the shutter. The dedicated software “Pixel Shift Combiner” processes the captured frames to generate an image containing some 160 million pixels.
The Smooth Skin Effect, which automatically smooths the skin tone, reduces the post-processing workload required in portrait photography, so that images can be finished at an advanced level of perfection much quicker than ever before.
The X-T5 features three dials on the top panel for controlling ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation. Users can check and change camera settings even before turning it on, as with the case of the aperture ring, featured in most XF lenses. This makes it easy to reflect users’ photographic intentions to camera operations.
X-T5 features a five-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system that provides up to 7.0 stops of compensation and a 3.69 million dot EVF with an 0.8x magnification ratio. Despite this, the camera body only weighs 557g (1.23lb). Dials and buttons provide easy operation, letting life’s most precious moments stand a chance of being documented to see another day.
A three-way tilting LCD offers enhanced versatility, particularly when working at waist level or in portrait orientation. The combination of tilting LCD and centre viewfinder aligns the lens, camera, and photographer on the optical axis, for a more comfortable and intuitive image-making experience.
The X-T5 comes with 19 Film Simulation modes, including “Nostalgic Neg.,” characterized by high saturation and soft tonality. Users can use Film Simulation presets, designed for various subject types and scenes, as if they are choosing photographic film. Reproduce the classic colours and tones that Fujifilm are known for, or add an artistic flair and start to Build Your Legacy.
The X-T5 features Auto White Balance based on the Deep Learning technology. AI technology has boosted the camera’s ability to automatically determine white balance, e.g. by way of accurately recognizing warm light-bulb colour. Fine adjustments can be made to Auto White Balance (AWB) by selecting one of three modes: Auto, White Priority, and Ambience Priority.
X-Processor 5 features subject-detection AF that is built using Deep-Learning AI Technology. In addition to providing incredible AF tracking and detection for human faces and eyes, X-T5 can now also automatically detect and track a broad range of subjects, which include animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, and trains. This allows photographers to concentrate on composition and creativity, confident that X-T5 will track focus accurately.
The X-T5 supports the HEIF image format, which delivers 10-bit image quality in files up to 30% smaller than standard JPEGs. The next chapter in delivering high-quality results straight out of camera has officially begun for X Series.
Thanks to the reduced power consumption of the X-Processor 5, the battery life for still images has been significantly increased from approximately 600 to 740 frames (in economy mode) compared to the X-T4.
X-T5 features 56 weather-sealed points for high levels of dust and moisture resistance. It can also operate in temperatures as low as -10°C (14°F).
6.2K movies can be recorded internally at 30P in 4:2:2 10-bit color. X-T5 features the 4K HQ mode, which uses 6.2K over-sampling to produce high-quality video, while making the maximum advantage of the high-resolution sensor to deliver video in superior image resolution.
X-T5 supports F-Log2, which records an expanded dynamic range of 13+ stops. This range is wider than current F-Log, broadening post-production potential.
