The principle element of Alternative Process printing was to use the sun's rays to react with paper once coated with emulsion - hence the name Printing-Out paper.

We sell 133 gsm 5x7" and 8x10" treated versions of this wonderful paper which requires no further chemical treatment, darkroom or photographic equipment. 

Simply place objects such as leaves, shells, flowers or textured patterns onto the surface and expose to sunlight. Exposure times vary depending on the season and intensity of the sun, but on a typical British sunny day allow 10-15 minutes for the paper to react.

After an exposure, wash in tap water for 30 seconds and wait for the image to appear.
