#TFCphotocomp May 2022 Winner Announcement
Thanks to everyone who entered our May 2022 "Pet Portraits" photo competition. This month we've seen an amazing array of adorable pet photography, so we've got a bumper crop of notable mentions to get through before we announce the winner of the £100 TFC voucher.
Pet Photography - Notable Mentions
Chewie, by Kevin Treadwell
Now of course TFC staff cannot enter and win our competition, but this shot of Chewie the Bengal cat by our Kev at TFC Birmingham was too nice not to include in this list. We hope you will agree, a wonderful shot beautifully lit by a single Elinchrom ONE head with Phottix Raja Deep 60cm Softbox.

Züri the Black Labrador, by Mark Hewitson Photo
In the words of the photographer, "There's something about a black Labrador on a black background". It's hard to disagree with that statement when it's executed as wonderfully as this. The fantastic separation and definition between Züri the Labrador and the background was achieved using three Elinchrom ELC 500 TTL heads. Two heads are aimed at the background either side of the dog using gridded Phottix Raja 30x140cm Strip Softboxes and the third head is overhead and slightly in front of Züri, equipped with a Phottix Raja 65cm Softbox.

An equine entry, by Gary Hill
We were delighted to see a few equine entries in this months competition, and this is perhaps the pick of the bunch. Combining portraiture and landscape with a beautiful painterly effect, this entry was shot with an Elinchrom ELB 1200 and Rotalux 50x130cm Stripbox Softbox.

Willow the Pup, by Robert Duncombe
This writer has a particular fondness for dogs, so I couldn't whittle my favourite dog entries down to only one! The bright background compliments the playfulness of a puppy perfectly. Shot with a Canon 5D and Elinchrom ELB 500 TTL.
Robert shoots a wide range of styles, from portrait to product, pets and more. See more over on his instagram @Robert_duncombe

And the Winner Is....!
Capture the Light Photo UK
The only thing better than an image of a puppy, is an image of ten puppies! The patience and dedication to create this nine image composite is worthy of the £100 TFC voucher alone. Add in the beautiful lighting, set design and styling and we think we have a very worthy winner this month.
Captured using an Elinchrom ELC Pro HD 500 head paired with an Elinchrom Rotalux 135cm Octabox. Camera choice was a Canon EOS R5.

As the winner of this month's competition, Emma at Capture the Light Photo receives a £100 TFC voucher to spend on anything on our website! To see more of her award-winning a imagery visit her Instagram @capturethelightphotouk
